The Institute for Digital Technologies (IDT) is dedicated to advancing digital technology to tackle major global challenges. Our focus areas include AI systems, autonomous systems, blockchain, cybersecurity, wireless communications and sensing, the Internet of Things, digital twins, sports and healthcare technologies, and financial technologies.
With significant research funding from UKRI, the Royal Society, and industry partners, the IDT conducts world-leading research and actively forges robust partnerships with national and international academic institutions, researchers, and industry leaders.
Our academics bring professional expertise to postgraduate teaching and research in areas such as machine learning, data analytics, immersive and interactive technologies, signal processing, optimisations, human behaviour analysis, digital marketing and the digital economy.
