Loughborough University London celebrates

On Thursday 4 July, Loughborough University London’s Future Space team gathered together students, staff and external stakeholders to join in celebration of a number of our community impact activities over the last year.

Participants from this years’ Inspiring Success programme, the Loughborough London Open Fund, Future Space micro internships and Personal Best London received awards during a presentation ceremony which was followed by a drinks reception, giving award recipients the chance to meet, relax and discuss their journeys.

The evening was opened by the Dean of Loughborough University London, Professor Tony Edwards.

This year’s Loughborough London Open Fund saw over 100 community organisations from across London apply for gifts of up to £1,000.  On the night, the work of all of these organisations was celebrated with fourteen of them receiving gifts between £250 and £1,000.

Professor Edwards concluded the event by giving out student award for those who had completed Micro Internships or the campuses Personal and Professional Development award – Personal Best London.

Personal Best London recipient and current MSc Sports analytics and technologies student, Kriti Kapoor said “The Personal Best London programme has been an incredible journey, allowing me to get the best out of my time at Loughborough University London and preparing me for my career beyond University. It has been a fantastic way to evidence my personal and professional development. The celebratory event was nothing short of inspiring! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow students, celebrate our achievements and look forward to our future careers with confidence!”
